Open Work

5 EUR

The third issue of the journal Maska in year 2005 deals with the problems pertaining to the idea of the open work. The critical premise of the issue, edited by Bojana Cvejić, is a survey of the overdetermined and overrated attributes of openness, flexibility and mobility; of research, laboratory and processual orientation as modes of production; of perception/reception as regards spectatorship, community, networking and self-organisation as distributional frameworks.

The result of this survey is a heterogeneous, open issue with a broad selection of texts, ranging from pieces written by artists to theoretical essays. The issue reveals a certain institutional saturation of the field; yet, it also opens up a space for new, affirmative approaches to the notion of the open work.
