The Post – Futurist Manifesto

10 EUR

Stop the world, I want to get off! If my memory serves me right, once upon a time, in the 1980s, this was the title of a popular aphoristic satiric rubric in the Slovenian newspaper Dnevnik.

However, now 30 years later, in times when we are witnessing the gradual, protracted and unrelenting neoliberal privatisation of the public good, such exclamations are no longer satire. Art research such as that we are trying to cultivate at Maska Institute has long been hijacked by capital, whose brutal dimensions we are not aware of.

Today more than ever before, intellectuals and artists are being subordinated to the machinery of capitalist production. It has dispersed and atomised everything social, while we have been pushed into precarious working conditions, exhausted and turned into a modern cognitariat. How are we to escape the prevailing modality of the world? What are we to do in order to make the masks concealing the ideas about the possibility of different modes of production and thinking fall off?
