Testo Junkie is a sharp critique of the contemporary regime of sexuality, which, through Preciado’s own body, interrogates what gender means in the 21st century beyond the binary of the “real” man and the “real” woman. Somatopolitics, hormones, drugs, and images function as tools for regulating our bodies, while at the same time—as the author lucidly demonstrates they are potent materials for personal and collective experiments in resistance against the late capitalist order.

The editors of the Slovenian translation, Pia Brezavšček and Jasmina Šepetavc, unfold in dialogue the personal history and editorial experience of working with a text that, amid the  global backlash against feminism and LGBT+ rights, has become even more urgent reading than at the time of its original publication in 2008.

The presentation will be followed at 18:00 by the documentary performance Now, Suddenly, I Was a Creature of Vice.
