Erotism
The issue with the title Erotism brings translations of fragments of fundamental works of contemporary French theory, of the authors Georges Bataille, Gilles Deleuze, Jean Baudrillard and Roland Barthes. In addition, two texts by the controversial author Camille Paglia are also translated, along with the discussion by Katrien Jacobs on female masochists and cruel mothers. Among the authorial contributions of home authors, we’d like to draw your attention to the composition Castration Machines by Boris Pintar, texts by Sonja Dular and Uroš Korenčan, on current performances.
Stojan Pelko writes about the last Kubrick’s movie, Ivan Čolović about the erotic fantasies of Serbian soldiers, Jure Gantar on eroticism and the problems of its staging. The introduction to the issue is represented by three up-to-date contributions: the talk with Marina Abramović, also on the front page of Maska with the painters from the Irwin group, a discussion by the new director oif the Berlin theatre Schaubuehne am Lehniner Platz, Thomas Ostermeier, and an essay by Marina Gržinić on the Biomechanics of Noordnung, a show by Dragan Živadinov in combined gravitations.
What is special abput the new issue of Maska is also a detailed representation of Drama SNG Ljubljana. With this issue, the editorial board is starting the representations of Slovenian theatres, prepared in collaboration with their artistic management. The issue has 104 pages, is richly illustrated and visually renewed.
